Family Ministry Team
Team Purpose:
The Family Ministry Team will work toward forming a partnership with parents to disciple their children. Children ages 0- grade 12 will be included in the scope of this ministry. This partnership will also seek to disciple children who attend Faith Church without parental involvement.
Description of Network
Team Description
The Family Ministry Team (FMT) consists of the Sr. Pastor, Pastor of Student Ministry, The Associate Ministry Director for Children’s Church, the Associate Ministry Director for Early Childhood, and the Office Assistant for Family Ministry. Additional resource people will be invited to participate from time to time, especially during the formation stages of the Family Ministry Team.
Routine Duties
Team Duties
- Pray for all ministries related to children, students and parents.
- Approve all helpers, small group leaders and teachers for the ministries under the direction of the Family Ministry Team. (Develop guidelines, qualifications, roles for helpers/leaders/teachers.) The recruiting and equipping of leaders will be carried out by the appropriate Equipping Staff members.
- Review and approve curriculum for all programs and/or small groups.
- Approve and coordinate the scheduling of special events.
- Oversee the implementation of the Child Safety Policy of Faith Church. This policy shall be reviewed on a yearly basis.
- Oversee budget development and spending for ministries.
- Gather feedback from teachers and participate in problem solving for key issues pertaining to facilities, curriculum, staffing and communication.
- Set goals – in line with vision and mission – report and evaluate.
- Refine and oversee the process for preparing children and students for baptism and church membership.
Specific Objectives
Team Objectivies
- Increase total number of small group leaders to (assume 8-10 per group):
- 8 for Early Childhood (3-5 yr olds) (am)
- 10 for Grades 1-4 (am) 16 for Grades 5-8 (pm)
- 16 for Grades 9-12 (pm)
- Define / refine a discipleship path for children and students that is consistent with the partnership we are building between parents and the church.
- Select / construct a comprehensive curriculum for age groups and begin implementation to be phased in over the next three years.
