"One Anothering" in Christ
John 13:35 says “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”That phrase “one another” is used more than 50 times in the New Testament to describe the relationships we share with other believers. We are instructed to love one another, pray for one another, spur one another on and encourage one another, bear one another´s burdens, submit to one another, and build one another up, (just to name a few!).
The emphasis Christ puts on these commands leaves us with a lasting truth: We really do need each other! God never meant for you to go it alone in the Christian life. He has called us into community because living and loving together is such a wonderful and blessed part of our maturity in Christ.
Christ demonstrated his own love for us, and below is a sampling of verse where he instructs us how to share that love with “one another” in a close community of believers.
